Change Major Process

  1. Review the curriculum overview and plan for the BS in ISE found here.
  2. Degree shop by major in ONE.UF to review your academic record on the degree audit.
  3. Create a ‘What-if’ Degree Audit for the ISE program to identify your Critical Tracking GPA or use the HWCOE GPA calculator. A 2.5 GPA is required for all critical-tracking courses based on the best of two attempts.
  4. To apply to change your major to the ISE program, complete the ISE Change Major Form.
  5. Once your form has been submitted, then schedule an advising appointment with the assigned academic advisor to facilitate a productive discussion. Appointments should be scheduled at least 2 business days after your form has been submitted (excluding weekends and holidays).

A few notes:

  • If you are a transfer student who has earned an AA degree from a Florida Public State/Community College and applied to the University, per the UF Transfer Admissions eligibility requirements, it is highly unlikely you will be able to change majors from the one you were accepted into.
    • Please note: Earning an AA degree in High School does not count as transfer student status.
