Boginski on Infrastructure Research Team Awarded $1.1 Million NSF Grant

boginskiGainesville, FL: Industrial & Systems Engineering professor Dr. Vladimir Boginski is part of an interdisciplinary research team recently awarded a $1.1 million grant by the National Science Foundation.

Boginski aims to tackle vulnerable and interdependent issues in interdependent systems with three other UF faculty from around the University, and one faculty member from FIU.

According to the NSF award abstract, “In this project, a team of five investigators from the domains of computer science, optimization, transportation systems, power engineering, and social science will work together to gain a better understanding of cascading failure phenomena, develop tractable mathematical models for designing resilient interdependent systems, and investigate innovative strategies to enhance the resilience of interdependent systems by preventing the occurrence of cascading failures and quickly restoring system operations.”
