GAINESVILLE, FL (October, 2010): Sandra Abdalian (BS ISE 2004) returned to campus to share her experiences with the “Introduction to ISE” class. She discussed her progression from Lockheed Matin intern to moving up the ladder at Harris Corporation, first as a Quality Engineer, then as a Lean/Six Sigma Leader and now, after returning from maternity leave, as a Production Program Manager. Between her Quality and Lean stints, she spent four months working with the United Way of Brevard County (still supported by Harris) because a mentor suggested that she should try something new. “I never know what I want to do next,” she told the students, but its OK to “get out of your comfort zone.”
