ANKARA, TURKEY:  UF ISE graduate, Barbaros Tansel (M.S. 1976, Ph.D. 1979), passed away suddenly on January 3, 2013.  Most recently, he was on the faculty at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, where he served as the department head from 1999-2006.  He was advised by Dr. Richard Francis, a UF ISE Professor Emeritus.  One of his colleagues, Dr. Vedat Verter, will honor him with a memorial lecture in April.  Dr. Francis will contribute a short talk remembering Dr. Tansel during his time at UF.
