UF May Take the Lead in State’s Online Push

GAINESVILLE, FL: During a recent meeting of the Board of  Governors’ Strategic Planning Committee, the University of Florida presented its approach to online learning. The meeting, which took place on the University of Florida campus at Emerson Alumni Hall, was centered around the state’s future in online education.

The committee approved a recommendation that the Board of Governors use pre-eminence metrics to select which state university would host new online degrees.

UF President Bernie Machen emphasized that “there’s no student enrolled in any program that is delivered by the University of Florida that cannot meet the standard for admission”.
