Scott Ellyson (BS ’93) to Deliver Gregory Lecture on Tuesday, December 4

GAINESVILLE,  FL: Scott Ellyson, entrepreneur and CEO of East West Manufacturing, will be delivering a seminar entitled, “Competing in a Complicated Global Environment” on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Emerson Alumni Hall Classroom.  The presentation will be followed by a reception from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. After graduating with a BSISE degree from UF, Mr. Ellyson began his career as a manufacturing and industrial engineer producing medical instruments for Boston Scientific. He then worked for several years as a management consultant for PriceWaterHouseCoopers in their Supply Chain Logistics group, focusing on logistics, strategy and operations. Scott’s first trip to Asia was in 1993 and shortly thereafter he co-founded ITS Ltd., an EMS manufacturer in Asia that produces automobile components and electronic assemblies. After selling his shares in ITS in 1998, Scott joined Diversitech Corporation, a leading manufacturer and distributor of HVAC components and supplies, as the VP of Offshore Manufacturing and Logistics. In 2001, Scott spun off the offshore division and co-founded East West Manufacturing. Today, Scott has made over 100 trips to various regions of Asia during his manufacturing career. Scott is a member of several boards including the Georgia China Alliance, DiversiTech Corp., Peachstate Logistics, PDI Inc, The China Research Center, and The Dream House for Kids.
