UF Wins Regional University Transportation Center

Gainesville, FL:  The University of Florida has been chosen to lead a Regional University Transportation Center, teaming with Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, University of North Carolina, North Carolina State, Florida International University, University of Alabama Birmingham and Auburn University.  The Center, named STRIDE for Southeast Transportation Research, Innovation and Education Center, has received $3.5 million and will focus on safety, livable communities and economic competitiveness according to a Florida News article.  The Center is directed by Dr. Lily Elefteriadou of the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering.  ISE faculty Joe Geunes, Toi Lawphongpanich and Panos Pardalos all participate in the Center’s activities.
