University of Nebraska May Cut Industrial Engineering.

Lincoln, NE (April, 2011): Chancellor Harvey Perlman of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln proposed budget cuts which include eliminating the state’s only industrial engineering program. Leslie Reed of the Omaha Word-Herald reported on the potential closing of the Industrial and Management Systems Engineering Department, which currently has about 100 undergraduate and graduate students. The proposed cuts must be reviewed by the University’s Academic Planning Committee before taking effect for the 2011-12 budget year, which begins July 1.
