Mitchell (BS 1996) Tells Students to Work Hard

GAINESVILLE, FL (September, 2010): Rick Mitchell (BS ISE 1996) addressed a full class of undergraduate students in their “Introduction to ISE” course on Monday, September 13, 2010. The ISE graduate-turned lawyer emphasized working hard and helping people along the way. After working for three years at Disney, he returned to UF to get a law degree and is now a partner with GrayRobinson in Orlando. He credits a lot of his success to his IE background, as when he is meeting with the leadership of a client (ExxonMobil, Siemens Energy, Coca Cola and NASCAR, to name a few), he can talk about their business and their processes – setting them at ease. Industrial engineering gives you “the broadest knowledge,” he said, “and you can make a direct impact.”
