Gainesville, FL (February, 2011): The University of Florida Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Student Chapter hosted the IIE Southeast Regional Student Conference on February 24-27. The conference featured a number of technical presentations and workshops on continuous improvement, entrepreneurship andproduction, in addition to a career fair and plant tours. Andrew Vittetoe led a UF committee in planning the affair, which featured a keynote lecture from Nielsen about the changing process of measuring consumer preferences in an online environment. Cameron, Northrop Grumman and Bloomberg also supported the conference. The team from Georgia Tech took top honors in the technical paper competition.
