Houston, TX (November, 2010): Dean Cammy Abernathy unveiled her plans for the College of Engineering, including the launching of a Leadership Institute, to Houston area alumni at a recent event held at the Westin Galleria. Cameron Chief Information Officer Hunter Jones (BS IE 1980) introduced the Dean at the event, as Cameron, a major supplier to the oil and gas industry headquartered in Houston, sponsored the event. The Dean discussed strategic hiring in the college as well as plans for an Innovation Institute. The goal is that students and faculty will better develop and hone both their innovation and leadership skills through formal and informal training.
