UF ISE graduate, McKenzie Landrum will be speaking on Friday, September 29th at 10:40 a.m. in CSE E-122. She is completing her Master of Science in Management at the University of Florida.  She received her undergraduate degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering with minors in Business Administration and Sales Engineering.  During her undergraduate studies, she was a Teaching Assistant for Computer Programming for Engineers (COP2271).  She also interned with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation and interned twice with The Walt Disney Company.  She is president of the Society for Health Systems and involved in the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Alpha Pi Mu.  She is passionate about engaging undergraduate students in their studies and extracurricular activities and assisting them to succeed in Industrial and Systems Engineering.

Teaching Philosophy:

“I believe that learning is more than just understanding concepts; students need to have the skills to apply them. Mastery of subject material is being able to recognize and apply a variety of concepts to find and solve a problem. As an instructor, I would guide students as they learn the course material, but even more importantly, understand how to apply these concepts in real world situations and become better prepared for their careers. Students need to develop critical thinking skills so that they can recognize an issue and then develop the steps to solve the problem. Organization and preparation skills are also imperative in any professional setting and these skills need to be taught side by side with formulas, definitions, and concepts.”
