Work Life Balance scholarship logoGainesville, FL: Following last year’s successful launch of the young alumni’s Work/Life Balance scholarship, this year’s goal has been established in an effort to increase the amount of support given to students. The following letter was recently sent to young alumni:

Dear UF ISE Young Alumni,

I am sure you remember searching for that first job in your career when you were on campus.  Companies looked closely at your resume for your academic success, as well as your experiences outside the classroom – from internships to club leadership positions.  Last year, a number of young alumni raised $1500 to reward an undergraduate ISE student that had achieved this work/life balance in school.  I am happy to announce that this scholarship will be offered again this year, but we need your help to reach more students.

These $1,000 scholarships recognize juniors and seniors who have demonstrated a strong balance of academic success and extracurricular involvement.  We have set a goal to award three (3) $1,000 scholarships to deserving ISE students during the department’s year-end banquet in May. All supporters of the UF ISE Young Alumni Work/Life Scholarship will be recognized on the department’s website.

This is your chance to show your appreciation to the department and help us recognize those deserving individuals who exemplify what it means to be an ISE Gator Engineer.

Thank you in advance for your support and as always, GO GATORS!

Sincerely,

Joseph C. Hartman
Professor and Chair
