GAINESVILLE, FL: The Industrial & Systems Engineering Department Alumni Group on LinkedIn recently passed an important milestone, eclipsing 600 members. The group on LinkedIn allows the Department and Alumni to keep in contact with each other, share professional activities, and inform fellow Gator ISE’s of exciting opportunities.

The group was started in summer of 2008 and reached the 100 member mark in the summer of 2010, illustrating that the greatest growth has been recent, including over 125 members in the past six months.  According to the site, 16% of the membership is located in the Gainesville area, 8% in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, 8% in Orlando, 6% in Atlanta and 5% in Tampa.  Furthermore, 21% of the members work in mechanical or industrial engineering industries, 8% in logistics and distribution, 7% in defense and aerospace, 6% in information technology, 5% in consulting and 4% in education.  While 25% of the membership are in entry level positions, 31% are in senior positions.  Finally, 14% are in manager positions while a further 10% are in Director or Vice President positions.
