ISE Seniors Off and Running with New Design Projects

Students give a presentation on Labor Traffic Logistics

GAINESVILLE, FL:  ISE undergraduates must complete a capstone project in order to fulfill their requirements for graduation.  This semester, the projects range from improving manufacturing processes to optimizing travel routes to designing inventory management decision support systems.  Students proposed their solution approaches to their peers this week, just over three weeks into the semester.  Note that in that time, the student teams have already visited their sponsors, (often numerous times) defined their problem and identified a solution approach with an associated project management plan.  A total of 36 students are enrolled in the course this semester, completing 10 projects.  Sponsors include BAE Systems, Coca-Cola, Costa Farms, Crowley Maritime, Nielsen, Northrop Grumman, Pepsi, Rockwell Collins and the U.S. Navy.
