2011 Graduating Engineers See 1.5 Percent Jump in Starting Salaries

[Bethlehem, PA] According to the most recent salary survey from the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the average starting salary for 2011 graduates rose 1.5 percent over the previous year to $61,872.  As a discipline, engineers were the highest ranked in starting salary, slightly ahead of computer science, which had the largest increase among all disciplines (besides engineering and computer science, this includes business, communications, education, health sciences, humanities and social sciences, and math and sciences) at 4.1%.  Computer engineers saw the biggest increase for engineers, up 2.5% to $70,400.  Industrial Engineers were not specifically noted in the survey executive summary.
