Washington Monthly Ranks UF 28th Among National Universities

Washington Monthly’s 2011 national universities rankings put the University of Florida at 28. Schools are ranked based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs), and Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).   UF was ranked 17th in research expenditures and seventh in science and engineering Ph.D.s awarded.
