GAINVESVILLE, FL (JUNE 2010): Dr. J. Cole Smith joined the Department in 2005, after having been on the faculty at the University of Arizona. He earned his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and undergraduate degree (mathematics) from Clemson. His teaching and research interests lie in discrete optimization with applications ranging from the medical field to the military. He currently serves as the Department’s Graduate Advisor.
