WASHINGTON, DC:  While the defense industry has long been dominated by male executives, times are changing as the heads of General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems are currently led by women.  Linda Hudson (BS SE 1972) led this change when she took the helm of the American branch of BAE in 2009, becoming the first woman in the U.S. to lead a defense contractor.  As noted by a recent article in the Washington Post, these executives will be under greater pressure in the near future with sequestration and strained defense spending budgets.
