UF ISE Alum Wins Pritsker Doctoral Dissertation Award

The Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) sponsors the Prtisker Doctoral Dissertation Award each year, which recognizes research in industrial engineering. This year, Dr. Yongpei Guan’s former student, Dr. Kai Pan, won first place for his dissertation entitled, “Deterministic and Stochastic Unit Commitment Problems: Convex Hulls, Strong Formulations, and Case Studies.”

Dr. Pan presented his dissertation and was honored at the IISE Annual conference held in May in Pittsburgh. He also received a $1,000 cash prize from the Pritsker Corporation.
