Dr. Ehsan Salimi Profile PictureLecturer in Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Florida
Ph.D., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2015

Dr. Ehsan Salimi joined the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering in the summer of 2017 as a Lecturer. Formerly, he was a postdoctoral research associate at DECIDE center at University of Southern California. He has received his Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015.

As a Lecturer, Dr. Salimi enjoys teaching variety of Industrial Engineering courses, especially in the area of data analytics and operation research. His teaching portfolio includes Web-based Decision Support Systems, Matrix and Numerical methods, Computer Programming, and Operations Research 2. He strongly believes in an active learning approach in the classroom, using his experience form both academia and industry, to prepare his students for a successful career.

As a researcher, his main research interest lies in the intersection of Information Theory and decision analysis. The main goal of this research is to use statistical inference and information theoretical methods to better understand human decisions in economics, politics and business, and computational geometric approach in control policy design for discrete event dynamic systems (DEDS) such as operating systems.
