Mengyu Li is a Lecturer in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at the University of Florida (UF). She teaches numerous undergraduate and graduate ISE courses, including: Inventory and Supply Chain Systems, Engineering Economy, Senior Design Project, and Systems Architecture. She has also completed the Great Teaching for New Faculty Certificate at UF in 2019 to advance her teaching skills.

Prior to her current position, Dr. Li worked as a product developer at a manufacturing company, where she was able to apply ISE principles and knowledge in an industrial setting. This work resulted in her receiving numerous awards for her accomplishments. Dr. Li’s research focuses on designing processes to improve ambulance deployment and emergency resource allocations. In 2018, her research received the Top EMS Research Project Award in Nova Scotia, Canada, and continues to be used to reduce wait times by the provincial health authority.

John Banko is a Senior Lecturer of Finance at the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida. He held both faculty and administrative positions at the University of Florida, Northern Illinois University, and the University of Central Florida.  At the University of Florida, Dr. Banko teaches graduate courses in Financial Management and Advanced Corporate Finance, as well as a variety of other finance courses at the undergraduate level.   Dr. Banko is also a coach for Heavener Case Competition team.

Dr. Banko’s research focuses on investment management.  His current papers look at the evolution of volatility in the US stock market as well as methods for calculating risk.  He has presented and discussed numerous papers at professional meetings, and his research has appeared in the Journal of Business, Financial Management, and Managerial Finance.

Dr. Banko currently serves as the Online Content Editor for the Financial Management Association.  He previously served on the board for the Southwest Finance Association.  He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for academic journals.  He is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter holder, and in that capacity, serves as the UF Director of the CFA University Affiliation Program.
