ASEE Notes Strong Growth in Engineering Management Degrees.

Washington, D.C. (February, 2011): Between 2004 and 2009, master’s degrees in engineering grew 4.5%, from 38,837 to 41,632 according to the American Society for Engineering Education . Master’s degrees in Engineering Management grew 27% to 2,240 in 2009. Nuclear degrees were up 34%, Biomedical up 62% and Aerospace up 18% over that same time frame. The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering offers an Engineering Management option with its M.S. and M.E. in Industrial and Systems Engineering degrees with students taking courses in ISE and the business school. The Department also offers a weekend program, termed Outreach Engineering Management, currently in Orlando.
