The UF ISE team won the first place in the 2014-2015 Material Handling and Logistics Student Design Competition sponsored by the College Industry Council on Material Handling Education and the Order Fulfillment Solutions Council. This competition, now in its 21st year, provides an opportunity for students to have a five-week team project. Students use real-world data to design a distribution center and apply what they have learned regarding material handling, warehousing, facility design, and operations management. The case study for 2014-2015 was provided by St. Onge Company. The team members are Sieggy Bennicoff Yundt, Warner Olson, Sarah Huestis and John Cassel (from left to right in the photo). The faculty advisor is Elif Akcali. The team is awarded $2000 and the department gets $500.
