SAN JUAN, PR:  Dr. Guanghua Han, Dr. Chin Hon Tan (PhD ISE 2012), Assistant Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the National University of Singapore, and Dr. Joseph Hartman, Professor and Chair of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida, won the 2013 Best Paper Award in the Engineering Economy Track at the 2013 Industrial and Systems Engineering Research Conference.  The paper, “Expected Profit under Maximin and Minimax Rules,” examines different mechanisms to evaluate decisions in light of risk and uncertainty.  The conference was held from May 18 through the 22 in San Juan, Puerto Rico as part of the Annual Conference of the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
