IPPD Celebrates 17th Year with Final Design Reviews

GAINESVILLE, FL:  On the evening of April 17, 22 Integrated Product and Process Design (IPPD) project teams comprising 125 students (21 from Industrial and Systems Engineering) gave their final presentations and displayed their products and systems in a Prototype Demonstration Showcase.  The keynote speech during the showcase banquet, by Mr. Joe Buzzett of General Dynamics, discussed the future of manufacturing at the defense contractor.  General Dynamics has been a strong supporter of the IPPD program, sponsoring 31 projects over the past 10 years.  They were honored for their continued support at the dinner.  Program Director, Dr. Keith Stanfill (left) and Mr. Erik Sander, Director of the Engineering Innovation Institute (right) presented the award to Mr. Buzzett (center). (Photo credit to Andrew Stanfill.)

This is the 17th year for the IPPD program.  To date, over 400 projects have been completed involving over 2300 students and 94 sponsors.  This year’s program featured 22 projects from 15 sponsors.  The event was sponsored by  Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
