NAE Elects New Members.

WASHINGTON, DC (February, 2011): The National Academy of Engineering elected 68 new members and nine foreign associates. Among those elected were Dr. John Birge of the University of Chicago and former Advisory Board Member for Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida. Election to the Academy is considered among the highest distinctions for an engineer. The total U.S. membership is now 2,290 members with 202 additional foreign associates.
