Optimization
is an essential component of the transportation management decision process.
Some examples of this include the inbound/outbound freight consolidation
problem, the location of distribution centers, or transportation planning. We
will show how Xpress-MP can be used to address some
of these cases, including the presentation of several Xpress
features/tools for modeling transportation problems: network optimization,
sequential and parallel optimization, column generation, Kalis
(constraint programming), and ready-to-use heuristics for vehicle routing
problems with time windows.
