While
industry & academia agree that disruptions are present in all supply
chains, there is limited information on how to deal with disruptions in both
the short and long term. We present results from a major multi-industry
empirical study on supply chain disruptions, and suggest a
industry-academic research agenda related to quantitative tools that industry
perceives as critically important for enhancing detection, analysis, and
mitigation planning in response to supply chain disruptions. We will share some ideas for risk modeling
arising out of these findings.
