Assistant Professor
The department invites applications for multiple tenure-track
positions at the Assistant Professor its Research and Engineering
Extension Facility (REEF) location in Shalimar, FL. We welcome
applications from individuals with strong backgrounds that hold a
doctorate in any ISE-relevant discipline, including industrial
engineering, operations research, or a closely related field. It is
desirable that the applicant would have at least one degree in
engineering. Exceptional cases at the Associate level will also be
considered.
Faculty members are expected to contribute to research and educational
programs at all levels, including directing a research program,
supervising graduate students, and teaching courses. Research areas
of particular emphasis in the department include optimization theory
and methods, stochastic methods, supply chain management,
transportation, risk management and financial engineering, statistical
analysis, manufacturing operations, energy management, and health
systems. Candidates with research interests in stochastic analysis
and/or statistical methodologies are especially encouraged to apply,
as are those with application interests in energy management and
health systems.
The successful candidate will be expected to attract and work on
projects related to the interests of Eglin Air Force Base and the Air
Force Office of Scientific Research, and collaborate with the UF
Industrial and Systems Engineering faculty at the main campus in
Gainesville, FL. It is desired that the candidate have experience in
systems engineering, modeling, simulation, and applied optimization.
The UF-REEF offers Masters and Doctorate degree programs and courses
in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical and
Computer Engineering, and Industrial and Systems Engineering. Details
