Welcome! Applying to the University of Florida’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (UF-ISE) is now easier than ever. Please read carefully and follow all application instructions to ensure a smooth and easy application process, thank you!

Application Deadlines

The ISE department strongly encourages applicants to complete their applications by the deadlines described below:

Summer & Fall Application Deadline
Spring Application Deadline

All Online Applications due by December 31st All Online Applications due by August 31st
All Supporting Documents due by February 15th All Supporting Documents due by October 1st

The above deadlines are final, no exceptions. Meeting the online application deadline allows the department to begin establishing department application files in a timely and efficient manner.  It is important that supporting documents are sent on time as applications will only be reviewed when they have been determined to be complete. For this reason, late or incomplete applications might not receive full consideration.

Application Procedure

Thank you for your interest in the ISE graduate program at the University of Florida! Below is the application procedure and checklist. Remember that the application process involves two offices, 1) the UF Office of Admissions and 2) the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.

Please read the following instructions carefully before applying. Failure to do so could delay or negatively impact your evaluation.

NOTE: The Outreach Engineering Management (OEM) program has a different application and admissions process. Details and more information on the OEM program can be found here.


Step 1) Complete your Online Application

Please Click here to begin or continue your online application and submit your payment of $30 non-refundable application fee.

Step 2) Upload Supporting Documents

Please upload the following supporting documents to your online application. These must be submitted for your application to be complete in the ISE department:

  • Statement of Purpose
  • Resume/Curriculum Vitae
  • Transcripts for all colleges attended
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation
    • Enter email contact information for your recommenders on your online application and they will be notified and asked to submit their recommendation letters.

**If your recommenders have difficulty submitting their recommendations through the online system, they can email their recommendations directly to the UF-ISE forms email address, **

Step 3) Report Official Scores

Report your official GRE and/or TOEFL/IELTS scores (if applicable) electronically using institutional code 5812. A department code is not necessary.

  • For a list of those exempt from submitting TOEFL scores, please see the English Language Testing Exemptions.
  • If your name on your ETS scorecard does not EXACTLY match your name on your UF application, your scores may not be posted. Please contact the department if there are any discrepancies between the names.

Step 4) Send confirmation Email to ISE

Once you have submitted your application, please send a confirmation email to regarding your application submission.

Step 5) Mail Documents to UF-Admissions (Important)

Please mail the following documents to the UF Office of Admissions in order for your application to be fully complete:

  • ALL OFFICIAL college transcripts
  • Copy of your degree certification/diploma (if applicable)

After you complete the above steps and mail necessary documents to the UF Office of Admissions, the ISE department will process your application and then forward it to the ISE Graduate Student Selection Committee for review and consideration.

Failure to complete a step above may delay or negatively impact your evaluation and application process, please make sure to submit all documents prior to the deadline.
