Prerequisite coursework

Knowledge of calculus, matrix methods, computer programming, probability and statistics.

Technical bachelor's degree

Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Quantitative Management or a similar field.

Acceptable grades
A GPA of 3.0 or higher in the final two years of undergraduate study (including all coursework completed after the first 60 semester hours or the first 90 quarter hours). Grades in the prerequisite coursework shown above are particularly important. For applicants who fall short of this requirement, exceptions can sometimes be made when the rest of the application is strong. Contact us for a preliminary review of your eligibility (oemprogram@ise.ufl.edu or 352.392.0928).

Work experience

Two years of full-time, professional work experience (or equivalent) is preferred. Exceptions can sometimes be made when the rest of the application is strong. Contact us for a preliminary review of your eligibility (oemprogram@ise.ufl.edu or 352.392.0928).

GRE

The GRE is required unless you have already completed an approved advanced degree program (e.g., master's or doctoral degree) from a regionally accredited institution. See www.gre.org for testing sites and registration procedures.

The following are our GRE score requirements:

·    A combined verbal and quantitative score of at least 1,000

·    A quantitative score of at least 550

·    A verbal score of at least 320

·    The analytical writing section is required and will be a component of the admissions decision. The expectation is a score of at least 4.0, although some flexibility may be extended when the rest of the application is strong.
