The operation of the UF IAC is integrated into the curriculum of both the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Industrial and Systems Engineering Department Curriculum
The ISE Department presently teaches a course once each year on Industrial Energy Management and operates an Energy Management Laboratory. This course, EIN 4321, is taught by the UF IAC faculty. The UF IAC complements existing courses and strengthens the energy efficiency research and education program at the University of Florida.

The UF IAC operation also provides ISE students an opportunity to perform their required Senior Design Project on energy efficiency and energy management at a company interested in improving their energy productivity. In addition, the ISE department offers a Special Topics course EIN 4905 that students can use for individual study on topics related to the UF IAC operation.

Case Studies
To further incorporate the IAC experience into engineering courses, illustrative examples and case studies have been prepared from the energy audits and analyses, as well as problems and class projects, to define possibilities of short and long range energy efficiency improvements of industrial processes.
