Energy audit and
energy cost-control services are offered by the UF Industrial Assessment
Center (IAC) to significantly improve the energy efficiency of small
to medium sized manufacturing companies, increasing their ability
to effectively compete in the national and global marketplace.
The IAC program
has established a record of quality performance that has cost-effectively
improved the energy efficiency of over 3000 manufacturing plants.
The operational goal of the UF IAC is to provide both on-site energy
services and follow-up services in a timely and thorough manner
that reflects the overall IAC record for quality and cost-effectiveness.
The IAC Director is Dr. Diane Schaub, a Professor
of Industrial & Systems Engineering who has vast experience
in experimental design, statistical process control and energy management.
The IAC Assistant Director is Dr. S.
A. Sherif a professor in the mechanical engineering department with
experience in Thermal Systems Design and Optimization, Thermodynamics,
Heat Transfer, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
The IAC Technical Manager is Dr. Cristian Cardenas-Lailhacar,
a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry. He has extensive experience
in process engineering.
The former IAC Director is Dr. Dale W. Kirmse, an
Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering who has extensive experience
in energy conservation, cogeneration and manufacturing process analysis
and design.
