Application Instructions

The application instructions on-line (see the link above) are straightforward.  However, the following items are required to complete your application.

1)     Official GRE and TOEFL Score Reports

The University of Florida requires the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for admission to graduate programs in Engineering.  International students must also submit TOEFL scores.  Please have ETS send these scores directly to the Office of Admissions.  Additionally, please send a copy of these scores to the ISE department, at the address above.  The Advanced GRE is not required.

2)     Recommendation Letters

The ISE department requires submission of three recommendation letters.  These may be completed on-line along with the rest of the application package.  However, if your recommender prefers to mail their letters to us, please have the letters sent to the departmental address above.

Recommenders from industry are definitely welcome.  However, we would encourage applicants to have some recommendation letters from academic faculty, particularly those at the most recent academic institutions attended by the applicant.

3)     Statement of Purpose

As a part of your application on-line, you will need to provide a statement of purpose.  This statement should describe your interest in the ISE department, your educational (and research, if applicable) goals, your study interests, and career goals. A typical statement is between one and two pages in length, although there are no minimum or maximum page limits.

4)     Resume

Your resume is often very helpful to us as we evaluate your application, and thus we ask you to submit a copy of your resume to the departmental address above as a part of your application.
