that the Course Planning Spreadsheet and this web page are only tools
to help plan your program. They are not meant to replace academic advising.
You should always talk to your adviser before each semester to plan your
courses.
For Academic Advising
Please fill out your sheet before talking to your adviser, note any questions,
and take along a printout when you talk to your adviser. If you made out
a sheet in the past you just need to bring it up to date.
What does the Spreadsheet do for you?
- It is a great planning tool that lets you know what classes you need
to take. It helps you plan your academic program by recommending the sequence
of classes that are crucial to yourmajor.
- It helps you visualize your entire academic program. When you fill
out the spreadsheet you should be able to see why you need to take care
of certain prereqs ahead of time or how it could cost you if you perhaps
do not take a certain class early in your academic career.
- Staying an extra semester due to bad planning can cost you as much
as $3000 a semester at present costs of living in Gainesville. Make sure
you have your schedule mapped out well in advance!
