Professor and chair

Applications and nominations are invited for the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at the University of Florida (UF). Candidates must hold a doctorate in an appropriate engineering or related discipline, have a proven record of excellence in scholarly research and engineering education, and possess strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the continued expansion of the ISE Department’s strong research and education programs.

The Department offers a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Master’s, Engineer and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering and Operations Research. Centers and labs include the Center for Applied Optimization, the Supply Chain and Logistics Engineering (SCaLE) Center, the Risk Management and Financial Engineering (RMFE) lab, and the Industrial Assessment Center.

The Department has 19 faculty members and 10 staff, 98 on-campus graduate students, 411 undergraduate students and $1.3 million in annual research expenditures. In addition, there are 80 Master’s students pursuing the Engineering Management option through an outreach program taught jointly with the Warrington College of Business, and another 25 graduate students at the College’s satellite campus near Eglin Air Force base.
