Gainesville, FL: Joseph Geunes, PhD, has been appointed chair of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of the College of Engineering at the University of Florida.

Dr. Geunes has served as Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida since 1998 and also serves as Director of the Outreach Engineering Management Program. He was the Department’s Associate Chair from 2005 through 2013. Dr. Geunes’ primary research interests lie in the areas of operations research and production and inventory planning and control.

Dr. Geunes received his PhD in Business Administration (Management Science) and Operations Research in 1999, and his Masters in Business Administration in 1993, both from the Smeal College of Business Administration at the Pennsylvania State University. He also holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.
