Elif Akçalı serves as the Michael Durham Professor of Creativity and associate professor of industrial and systems engineering at the University of Florida. She is an affiliate faculty member of the Florida Institute for Built Environment (FIBER) and the Engineering Innovation Institute (EII). She was in the inaugural class of UF Entrepreneurship Faculty Fellows in the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation in Warrington College of Business Administration. She was UF 2013-2014 Creative Scholar-in-Residence in the School of Theater + Dance. Her research and teaching interests are inventory and supply chain systems, lean production systems, sustainability and creativity.
