What Do ISE Graduates Earn?
According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineers graduating with a bachelor’s degree earned an annual starting salary of $54,585 while Systems Engineers start at $54,200. Both majors ranked in the top five of all engineering majors. This is data from the Fall 2007 survey. An advanced degree, such as an M.S. or M.E. degree, generally adds $5,000 to $10,000 to the starting salary.
Given their systems perspective, an ISE's advancement up the job ladder is not unusual. In fact, because so many ISEs are moving into top management positions due to their unique training, the outlook for continued rapid growth in industrial and systems engineering is excellent.
