The IIE Region 3 Host Committee, in conjunction with Friends for Life of America, is proud to sponsor a hat and teddy bear drive for pediatric cancer patients around the world. Friends for Life of America, a student-run organization dedicated to helping pediatric cancer patients and their families, hosts this annual event called Global Outreach. Throughout the year, the organization collects hats and teddy bears from students and companies around the nation to send to children undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments all over the world. With the help of people like you, Friends for Life of America has distributed care packages to hospitals in countries such as Argentina, Romania, and Nigeria.
In addition to the many workshops, activities and guest speakers we have planned for the conference, there will also be a Hat and Teddy Bear Competition. We are asking every school in the region to open up their hearts by bringing to the conference at least one new or unused hat or teddy bear for each person that attends. The school that brings the most hats or teddy bears per person will win the competition and be presented with an award at one of the dinners or lunches. By donating an unused hat or teddy bear, you not only will help a less-fortunate child, but you will also help your school in the Hat and Teddy Bear Competition!
