It all started in January, 2003 at Auburn University.  12 students from the University of Florida IIE chapter were attending the IIE region 3 student conference.  While there, the students learned that there was no school that was hosting the 2004 conference.  Being the grandiose thinkers they are, the 12 students thought they could do a great job hosting the next conference.

These students were not ones to rush into a commitment without thinking it over.  At breakfast, the twelve discussed what needed to be done, who would do it, and if it was feasible.  Breakfast was settled with the idea in everyone's mind that the University of Florida would put in a bid for the next conference and do a great job.  The students checked with their department to make sure they had the department's blessing.  Upon receipt of said blessing, the bid for the next conference was placed.  By the evening, it was set in stone that the University of Florida would host the next conference.

As students and members of IIE, we are working very hard to make this a successful conference.  We need commitments from both the corporate sector and the other chapters in the region to make this a success.  If you have any questions, please contact one of the conference committee members below.  We are very excited about this opportunity, and we hope you will join us in making the Region 3 2004 IIE Conference a huge success!
